Punderson State Park is a 741-acre public recreation area in Newbury, Ohio. The state park features a 150-acre lake and a lodge that enjoys a reputation for being haunted. The state park has facilities for swimming, fishing, camping, yurt hurdling, golf, disc golf, and sledding in wintertime

The Geauga Park District has 28 different parks with 85+ miles of trails. You can enjoy hiking, birdwatching, horseback riding, skiing, biking, and more. 

The 650-acre Lucia S. Nash Preserve, located in Geauga County, includes Snow Lake—a small kettle lake surrounded by emergent marsh, sedge meadow and shrub swamp. The low hills around the lake support upland forest with scattered vernal pools and swamp forests.

The Holden Arboretum, in Kirtland, Ohio, is one of the largest arboreta and botanical gardens in the United States, with more than 3,600 acres, including 600 acres devoted to collections and gardens.
